For $5! How did you fix it, was it just a battery replacement?

Seems like the phone is having a boot loop.
That should be an easy fix actually. First take the battery out then put it back in. DON'T TURN IT ON YET!. Then, all at once, hold the home button, volume up button and the power button. Keep holding it until you get to a screen with the android. Using the volume down button to navigate, go where it days wipe data/factory reset and then hit the power button.
When that's done, wipe the cache if you want then you can just go on the reboot option and hit the power button. That should help. If you don't understand it then I'll try a vid on factory resetting.
