22 year old student: took up full time survey work for a month, here are my results!

Little backstory: I'm in college studying for a computer science degree, hoping to get some job in government computing contracting. I'm really good with computers but naught much else. I decided I needed a job this summer, but I wasn't aiming for McDonalds. So I decided I would work 63 hours a week on various survey sites for a month, to test how it was. I had already dabbled in beermoney previous to this, so I knew some great survey sites. Here are my sites and their results!

******************

[SurveySavvy](http://www.surveysavvy.com/?m=6821552)

SurveySavvy has the highest paying surveys out there. Typically I made $5 per survey, 30 minutes average.

**Hourly Pay**

$10/hour

************

[Legerweb](https://legerweb.com/PUN9G)

Also another great paying survey site. Averages about $2-4 per 20-30 minute survey. It IS a Canadian site, but they ARE accepting U.S. residents. The survey questions are Canadian-company based, so if they're asking you about a product/company, and they're all Canadian, just answer "other". Checks come in Canadian $ so there will be a conversion fee.

**Hourly Pay**

$6/hour average

*******************

[YouGov](https://today.yougov.com/refer/WDZ4XxG9CuLiR7sPg0TH6Q/)

U.S. based panel research. You answer questions in your feed, to increase your profile and get more surveys. I dont' get a whole ton of surveys from this site, but the pay is good at about $4 per 45 minute survey. Payouts via gift cards, no checks. (VISA prepaid available)

**Hourly Pay**

$6/hour average

*************

[Prolific Academic](https://www.prolific.ac)

Prolific is by far my favorite so far. They have an abundance of studies, the payout is good, and the surveys are short. They pay out via PayPal in GBP, the minimum is 5 GBP which is about $6.50 U.S. I was making about $7 an hour off this site, survey length varied.

**Hourly Pay**

$7/hour

*************

[Mint Vine](https://mintvine.com/users/register/804 ... b09f1de0db)

Mint Vine is probably my least favorite. There's an abundance of surveys, but the pay isn't very good at about $3 a 30 minute survey. It makes me $6 an hour, which is barely minimum wage. However I mentioned it because there ARE a lot of surveys on here, so if you ever run out of studies on the other sites, come to Mint Vine! I'm still experimenting with it on my routine.

**Hourly Pay**

$6/hour

**I'm a teenager and want money!**

Mint Vine is 13 and older I believe, so is Survey Savvy. The rest are 18+. I would recommend mowing lawns if you're a teen.

**I hate surveys, I always disqualify.**

You're using **** survey sites. Anything on Swagbucks/Cashcrate/Any other GPT site IS generic, and WILL disqualify you halfway through. You need to join a "panel" or "focus research group." These surveys pretty much only disqualify if your answers disagree with each other. Just be honest, be thorough and you won't be disqualified.

**I never get surveys, why is this?**

That's probably the hardest part of surveys ~ there being a lack of them. This is why I've included 5 different sites. You're not going to be using them ALL at once. You do a survey on one site, maybe two, then switch over to another site, and so on. If you find a TON of survey sites, you're bound to have a survey to do always.

**I hate surveys!**

Not a question :)

If you really hate surveys, then I would recommend doing more "task oriented" like MTURK. Go check it out!

If you have any more questions, ask them down below and I'll be sure to get back to you!

******************

**My earnings for the month of June**

**Prolific** $1500

**SurveySavvy** $1200

**Legerweb** $1000

**YouGov** $1000

**Mint Vine** $500

**Swagbucks** $200

**Total** $5500 for the month of June

**If you do this every month for a year you would be making $66,000 average**

*****************

I hope I did all my maths right. :|

***********

**A final note:**

You're thinking right now, **wow, $66,00 a year, I'll be rich**

Nope, sorry. It was REALLY hard working 9 hours a day for a month, and working on surveys? Double hard. I bet you you couldn't keep it up for more than two months.

Another thing to keep in mind is Surveys AREN'T STABLE EMPLOYMENT. I guarantee you you're not ALWAYS going to be making $5500 a month! That was my *AVERAGE* not 100% accurate! If you want stable employment, get a job! Seriously!

I hope I did all my editing correctly. If you see any mistakes 10-20 minutes after this post goes up, I'm probably editing it now! I hope you enjoyed reading this post, and I hope it's well received! If you want to take up surveys for a month to make an extra 5/ha
lf grand, go for it! It's totally possible, just hard...

Wow, thanks a lot. This is very interesting, you put all we needed to know about surveys. As you said, I was always disqualify, it was really annoying because i couldn't make any money. But i should try, you make a nice profit ! :D

I forgot, do you have any codes to use for affiliation or do we just have to use the link ? As you made a very good job, it will be the way to thank you

UnitedStatesStrong » Wed Jul 13, 2016 3:55 pm

I am on prolific.ac since yesterday, I put all the details about me to be able to do more surveys but I had only one to do (that was 2 dollars). How many surveys would I will be able to do ? Because I would like to do more but there isn't any available....

UnitedStatesStrong » Thu Jul 14, 2016 3:42 pm

Just make sure you fill in all your profile questions. Go to the "Prescreening"tab and fill in all the questions they have for you. Then you'll need to be patient and wait. I usually get about 3 surveys every day. The key is using all the survey sites, because you won't always have surveys available on 1 site.

Good job?0! I'm not into surveys, but after seeing you made over 5500 a month I may try it out!

Im not getting any surveys, are you? And tbh it doesnt seem that much worth it if your only get 10 cents a survey and you need 15 dollars, thats 1500 surveys...
